You are 22 weeks old. Currently, you are sleeping in your BIG cot right now…..finally. It took us a while to get you into the cot as you like the closeness of the walls in the moses basket. You also liked how we would rock you a little bit in the moses basket. But no more rocking! You hate being put to sleep, I’m guessing this is because you are super excited about being awake. There are so many things to explore!
There are so many new things you are learning. You like your play pen now, compared to when you were 3 months old. You like grabbing Daddy’s beard, probably because he looks like a Big Bear. You LOVE being on your belly, whenever I put you down you automatically turn over onto your belly. You giggle sometimes when we tickle your belly and nipples. You don’t laugh at the same thing every time, it’s very random. Some days you think one thing is funny and the next day you think something else is funny. You like when I bring my hand up from the sky and then onto your face and make an airplane and crashing noise. You always smile when I sing “A,B,C” and “In the Jungle” and “Three Little Birds” because these are the songs I have been singing to you since you were born.
Today we went to swim class. You have loved swim class from the very beginning, it is my favourite activity with you. Today you went under the water 7 times, 2 seconds each time. Then I put you under and spun you around and brought you back up. You didn’t have a nap before swim class so you were a little grumpy, but not too bad! You whinged a little bit after I took you out of the water on the second time when I spun you around. : )
We went to baby sensory class on Tuesday. I am so proud every time I go to this class because you are the most active baby. You always roll over and all the other Moms are very impressed and say, “Wow, he’s very active”. Basically you are the best. I’m not biased at all. You were rolling over before some of the older babies too! You really like the part where they sing “You are my sunshine” and they have this glittery yellow blanket parachute-type thing that we throw up in the air. You also love it when I put you on my legs and knees and we fly like an airplane.
Anyway, tonight we are going to feed you carrots for the very first time. Dad is steaming the carrots and putting them in Nurtibullet for you. You are meant to be going to sleep now but are still taking your nap from earlier today. I don’t know whether to wake you up or let you sleep. I guess I’m going to let you sleep because I want to make sure you get your rest.
I just asked your Dad if he wanted to add anything to the letter, he says, “Stop waking me up in the middle of the night. **laughs** I look forward to having a kick about in a couple years time.” Update: Dad just burnt the carrots and now the whole flat smells smokey. Bleh.
You have grown so much in the last couple months, you are already out of your 0-3 month newborn clothes. You still fit into a few of them, but most of them I have had to put in a red bag in the closet.
I don’t even know how it’s possible but I love you more and more each day. I love kissing your cheeks and seeing you smile. My heart melts every time you laugh, as it is so rare at the moment. I’m so excited to play with you when you are older. : )
Love you soooooooo much,
