Dear Bear,

You are 7 months and three weeks old. This week you are going to be 8 months this Wednesday! I can’t believe it. You have grown so much. You are now properly crawling around and trying to stand up on every piece of furniture. I put leggings on you this morning which made it more difficult for you to crawl because of the hardwood floors but you are so determined it didn’t matter.

beautiful body2

You are the most determined baby I have ever seen. When you see something, you go for it and you won’t let anything get in your way.

I’ve started feeding you three times a day now. You had Wheetabix this morning with formula milk, and for lunch I made mashed potatoes, carrots, and vegetable soup for the flavour. Your favourite food is BEANS! You literally sit there and open your mouth waiting for the beans. You do not like fruit, you close your mouth and turn away. I decided to stop breast-feeding now in the hope that you would sleep through the night. But that still hasn’t happened, however you have been sleeping in the cot the entire night the last two nights (with some crying). You have been sleeping in our bed every night for the past 7 months, but I think it’s time for you to start being more independent. You have been drinking formula at nursery and I was breast-feeding in the morning and at night, so cutting down wasn’t a problem. Anyway, you are happy and don’t seem too bothered. : )

You really enjoy exploring the world. You want to go everywhere and get into everything and you hate sleeping. Nap time and bed time are your least favourite activities. Dad and I are trying to do sleep training now so that you will get into a better sleeping pattern. We’ve set up a bed time routine, we’ll feed you dinner, then do a bath, read a bed time story and sing you the song “Lean on Me” by Bill Withers. I’ve been singing this song to you every single night since you were about 1 month old. I really hope it starts to make a difference now, if not, at least it was a nice song to sing anyway.

We went to Daddy’s birthday party yesterday. I tried to do a surprise birthday but his friend Will, your Godfather, was texting me and Daddy saw the texts. MEH. Oh well, at least it was a nice afternoon. We went to The Green Man pub. You saw your friends Isobel, Jorje, Emiliano and Liam. : )

You are so, so, so smiley in the morning. I love waking up and seeing your smiley little face. You don’t really laugh that much, I’m not sure if it’s because you haven’t found your voice or if you are just hard to make laugh. Dad and I try and make you laugh but you are so stubborn. Sometimes you do though and it is the best sound in the entire world. Usually when we tickle you or blow raspberries on your neck, but not all the time.

I love you so much. I am loving you more and more every day. You are turning into an amazing person, you are so determined and happy. I can’t wait until you are able to talk and dance with me!

Love you, Mom
