Honestly I never knew that sleep trainers existed until I met Hannah, and she was the best decision of my entire life. I have now had a consistent week of sleep from 7pm to 7am (sometimes 8!). I can’t believe that I ever existed without sleep.
Here are five reasons why sleep is the best decision (who knew that this was a decision?!) I have made in 27 years of being on this earth…
My brain functions
A very interesting event occur where I was able to listen, respond and listen again. I had a proper conversation where I was actively involved. My friendship bars have increased from about 5% to about 75%. Within another couple weeks of normality, my bars will be completely filled to 100%.
I am patient
Oh you want me to wait for you at the train station? …..while I am standing in the rain, with no coat on, only flats that are soaking, and my baby that is in a pram screaming at the top of his lungs because I lost the dummy and he is tired…..”No problem! Take your time!”
I can multi-task
Today I was able to write out a blog post, tweet at my friends, comment on Donald Trump’s disgusting victory, put my son to bed, finish up a powerpoint presentation, answer 22 emails, have a real conversation with my partner….. all in the time that it took me to run my bath. Yes, a bath! With bubbles and candles and chocolate strawberries served to me by hot Brazilian surfer men. My boyfriend was out at the shops ; ).
I can remember things
The car keys are hanging on the back of the kitchen door! This weekend my friend is having a Thanksgiving dinner. My son needs a new winter jacket. I need to buy my mom a digital photo frame for Christmas. I have a meeting at 10:30am tomorrow that is in the studios building. The Apprentice is on tomorrow night.
I am less emotional
When I was waking up every three hours I could cry at anything. A puppy, a loved one giving my son a kiss, a piece of string. You name it, my eyes would tear up. I’m surprised I still have my job ; ). It’s so strange but with all of this sleep I feel stronger, emotionally.
oh and last thing…
You live longer apparently.
In a 2010 study of women ages 50 to 79, more deaths occurred in women who got less than five hours or more than six and a half hours of sleep per night. Sleep also affects quality of life.
I’m very sorry to anybody who is reading this with no sleep. I’m not trying to rub it in, I want to tell you how amazing it is so that you feel inspired to go ask for help. I know how hard that can be. If you are having problems with your little one you must check out this sleep trainer named Hannah. In all realness, she has significantly helped me feel better emotionally and physically. Lack of sleep is a serious issue and I thought I was doomed, this was my last resort. My only regret is wishing that I had spoken to her sooner!
