I am alive.

I want to kiss Hannah Love all over her face and throw rainbow sprinkles on her driveway and hire Ryan Gosling to stand at her doorway with a big bouquet of roses like,

The day has finally come,

I. have. slept.

My baby was finally like……

sleep baby

…and I was like..

Honestly I never knew that sleep trainers existed until I met Hannah, and she was the best decision of my entire life. I have now had a consistent week of sleep from 7pm to 7am (sometimes 8!). I can’t believe that I ever existed without sleep.

Here are five reasons why sleep is the best decision (who knew that this was a decision?!) I have made in 27 years of being on this earth…

My brain functions

A very interesting event occur where I was able to listen, respond and listen again. I had a proper conversation where I was actively involved. My friendship bars have increased from about 5% to about 75%. Within another couple weeks of normality, my bars will be completely filled to 100%.

I am patient

Oh you want me to wait for you at the train station? …..while I am standing in the rain, with no coat on, only flats that are soaking, and my baby that is in a pram screaming at the top of his lungs because I lost the dummy and he is tired…..”No problem! Take your time!”

I can multi-task

Today I was able to write out a blog post, tweet at my friends, comment on Donald Trump’s disgusting victory, put my son to bed, finish up a powerpoint presentation, answer 22 emails, have a real conversation with my partner….. all in the time that it took me to run my bath. Yes, a bath! With bubbles and candles and chocolate strawberries served to me by hot Brazilian surfer men. My boyfriend was out at the shops ; ).

I can remember things

The car keys are hanging on the back of the kitchen door! This weekend my friend is having a Thanksgiving dinner. My son needs a new winter jacket. I need to buy my mom a digital photo frame for Christmas. I have a meeting at 10:30am tomorrow that is in the studios building. The Apprentice is on tomorrow night.

I am less emotional

When I was waking up every three hours I could cry at anything. A puppy, a loved one giving my son a kiss, a piece of string. You name it, my eyes would tear up. I’m surprised I still have my job ; ). It’s so strange but with all of this sleep I feel stronger, emotionally.

oh and last thing…

You live longer apparently.

In a 2010 study of women ages 50 to 79, more deaths occurred in women who got less than five hours or more than six and a half hours of sleep per night. Sleep also affects quality of life.

I’m very sorry to anybody who is reading this with no sleep. I’m not trying to rub it in, I want to tell you how amazing it is so that you feel inspired to go ask for help. I know how hard that can be. If you are having problems with your little one you must check out this sleep trainer named Hannah. In all realness, she has significantly helped me feel better emotionally and physically. Lack of sleep is a serious issue and I thought I was doomed, this was my last resort. My only regret is wishing that I had spoken to her sooner!

Keep a look out for tips and tricks about how Hannah worked her magic, post coming up in the next week!

  1. This is amazing! I’m so pleased Hannah worked for you! Isn’t it funny the little things we take for granted that simply can’t happen without sleep. It’s not wonder it is a form of torture.

  2. Wow! You sound like a new woman. LOL at the piece of string, that emotional head fuck. My good nights are sporadic, I never know when they’re going to show up but am always so please when my alarm clock wakes me up, although I’d prefer it to be Ryan Gosling naturally! #stayclassymama

  3. I have the opposite problem, my children sleep but I don’t!! I have insomnia, have done my whole adult life, and can go days without sleeping which is insanely hard with four active children! I’ve tried everything, mainly prescription drugs, but nothing at all works. Maybe I need a sleep trainer, I’m getting desperate!! #stayclassymama

  4. Ha! I remember the first time my eldest slept through the night – after the immediate alarm that they must be dead wore off, I then felt fuzzy and like I’d been hit by a truck as my body had none of the usual addrenaline to keep me going…Here’s to a new stage for you.#Stayclassymama

  5. I remember the awfulness of sleep deprivation so well. It was torturous. My son woke every hour on the hour until he was three. I kid you not. I would literally sleep for 20 minutes at a time. I would go to work crying because I was so tired. I would cry on the way to work on the bus. The firest full nights sleep I got after three years I nearly cried with relief lol. There’s nothing better in this world than a decent nights sleep.

    Thanks for hosting #stayclassymama

  6. Horay for sleep! Yay! I bet you feel like a whole new person! I think I need a sleep trainer, or I need to be completely knocked out every night to feel rested after my alarm has gone off!
    Anyway, long may it continue!

  7. Glad it’s worked so well for you! Its amazing how the world is just brighter and everything easier when you’re well rested 🙂 #stayclassymama

  8. DIY Sleep training worked wonders for me and my friend got a sleep trainer and I was surprised how reasonably priced it was. The sleep is out there! So glad you are back to your fabulous self. #StayClassyMama

  9. It makes such a difference, doesn’t it? The Popple generally does a 7-7 sleep these days, and she had one bad night due to teething this week and I thought I as going to DIE. Seriously – how did I survive for her first 12 months without sleep? #stayclassymama

  10. Oh bless you, no-one can really understand sleep deprivation until they’ve had kids! The Twins didn’t sleep through until they were 4!!!!! FOUR!!!
Luckily this time round with Bubs she loves sleep and we’ve even had a sprinkling of 14hr night sleeps!!!
Here’s to magical sleep and contented babies!!

  11. I am so glad to hear your are having success with sleep! When my first was born I didn’t sleep for the first 6 months. Now that my kids are 5 and 8 I am finally getting pretty regular night’s sleep – as long as there are no nightmares! It’s amazing how regular sleep can help you feel SO MUCH BETTER!!! Good for you!

  12. It’s scary when they go back to not sleeping, it’s almost better continuously not sleeping than having a blissful break of sleep and going back to hell lol. I am a bit scared the streak will break but so far so good!

  13. I have had those days, and I have gone into work and cried it is literally THE worst. I would say even worse than the nastiest of hangovers lol. I’m so glad your sleeping now, I’m hoping my streak of sleep continues!

  14. Hahah I know I was worried people might be like Shut IT! Will have it ready for next week stay tuuuuuned : )

  15. Strangely one of my friends was telling me how there are sleep trainers for adults haha! Maybe check it out? I’m so sorry you have sleep problems I can only imagine based on my current sleep how hard that must be!!

  16. It’s more of a consultation : ), I’m going to post about this tomorrow so keep an eye out! Thanks I’m hoping it stays this way
